Hi, I’m Michelle (Mimi)—the quilter behind Stitch Haus Quilt Co.

I learned to sew from my sweet grandma, Betty, and I’ve been happily tangled in fabric and thread ever since. Quilting has always felt like home to me—creative, comforting, and just a little bit magical.

When my three kids were young, I ran a longarm quilting business so I could be home with them. Now that they’re grown, I’m jumping back into longarm quilting with both feet—and I couldn’t be more excited to do this again.

I’ve been married to my husband, Jeff, for over 30 years, and we live just outside of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Before returning to quilting full-time, I spent many years as an orthopedic nurse—a job I truly loved. It turns out that caring for people and caring for quilts have a lot in common: patience, precision, and attention to detail matter.

When I’m not quilting (or thinking about quilting…or shopping for my next quilt), you’ll find me playing in the dirt in my garden, riding my bike on nearby trails, or hanging out with my family. I’m a proud homebody who loves a good recipe, a cozy movie night, and a well-loved quilt on the couch.

At Stich Haus Quilt Co., I treat every quilt like it’s something special—because it is. I’d be honored to help you give your quilt the beautiful finish it deserves.
